2013 SEASON NEWS

COACH PITCH TO REPLACE T-BALL

(Official ages to be 7 and 8 years olds as of April 30th of the current year. 6 year olds can as be included)

The following are the rules that are proposed to be used:

Each batter get 3 swings. If player fails to hit one fair after 3 swings, then he uses the Tee. There are no strikeouts during regular season. In the playoffs, the player gets 1 swing on the tee and if he does not hit the ball in fair territory, batter is out.

No player can play the same position twice in same game. In the playoffs, this rule will not apply.

Coaches will be permitted on field to help guide the defense for first 2 weeks only. In Week 3, no coaches will be allowed on field when game is on.

In order to stop play, an infielder needs to have his hand up. The Outfielder cannot run the ball into the infield and raise his hand; he needs to throw the ball to an infielder who can then stop play by raising hand.

A runner needs to be 75% of the way to the next base or needs to return to the previous base once fielder with the ball raises hand.

A player can only advance ONE base on an error if the ball is out of play. If ball is in play (i.e. in the outfield), the runner may keep going.

The game will be played with a maximum of 10 and a minimum 8 defensive players on the field including a pitcher that MUST have one foot on the mound during batting.

Everybody bats in the line up. There will be no substitutions unless there is injury or an Emergency.

There will be neither bunting nor stealing.

There will be no infield fly rule applicable.

Both teams need to bat the same number of hitters in line-up. Example: if Team 1 has 10 players and Team 2 has 9 players, Team 2 will bat an extra player in every inning. The same player cannot bat twice in an inning more than once.

For the last batter in the line-up, in order for the team on defense to stop the play, the ball needs to be thrown to catcher from behind the "fair ball" line. Only the pitcher is allowed to back-up catcher and make the play if ball gets past catcher (i.e. pitcher can pick it up, go to home late and raise hand to end play).

When a team is batting, 1 hitter is at the plate, 1 player on deck and everyone else is sitting on the bench.

No throwing bats. If player throws his bat, he gets a warning. If it happens again, the player loses his next at bat.

• If a ground ball is hit to the pitcher, he must throw to first baseman to get the out rather than run with the ball and touch first base himself.

On last batter, if ball is caught on the fly, batter is out and other base runners can advance to home only if they tagged up.

Runners are able to tag up at all other times

If a pitcher (coach) gets hit with a live ball, the play goes on.

No inning can start past 7:45pm
