The Rules for the 2017 Rookie Season

The UPM45 Blue Flame pitching machine will be used
and operated by a Coach of their team at bat.
No player may use/load/operate
the UPM45 at any time.
At the beginning of the season, and at the
discretion of the Coach, a pitch (underhand or
overhand on one knee) may be thrown by the Coach if
the batting skill level of the player has not yet
developed. During the playoff, only the UPM45 will
be allowed to be used.
Each batter gets 5 good pitches. If player fails to
hit one fair after 5 good pitches, then he/she uses
the Tee. There are no strikeouts at bat during
regular season. In the playoffs, the player gets 1
swing on the tee and if he does not hit the ball in
fair territory, batter is out.
Inning will continue until the defense gets 3-outs
or the offensive team scores 4 runs, whichever comes

his hand up. The Outfielder cannot run the ball into

A player can advance ONE BASE ONLY on an error.
During the House League season, there will be NO
MAXIMUM number players on the field (a maximum of 10
players during play-offs) and a minimum 8 defensive
players on the field including a pitcher.
Before the pitch is made, the pitcher MUST be
positioned with one foot in line with the pitching
rubber and is allowed to be UP TO 6 feet of either
side of the pitching rubber
The batting lineup will be followed in order. There
will be no substitutions unless there is injury or
an emergency. If a player arrives late, they may be
added to the bottom of the lineup at the discretion
of the coach.
Player rotation during the House League season must
be respected. Players will be allowed to play the
same position a maximum twice in a game, but with a
gap of at least 2 inning (ie.1st inning
and 4th inning). This rule
will not apply during the playoffs.
There will be no infield fly rule applicable.
When a team is batting, 1 hitter is at the plate. No
on-deck players on the field.
No throwing bats. If player throws his bat, they
gets a warning. If it happens again, the player
loses their next at bat. In the playoffs, if a
player throws his bat, they are automatically out.
If a ground ball is hit to the pitcher, he must
throw to first baseman to get the out rather than
run with the ball and touch first base himself.
If a pitcher (coach) gets hit with a live ball, the
play goes on.
Players are not permitted to lead off the base.
Baserunners must tag up when a fly ball is caught in
flight by a fielder.
No inning can start past 7:45pm
