U14 MICHELIN TOURNAMENT

This division was the first division of this tournament up until 2012 when the U12 level was added. The previous winner of the tournament was the Montreal Titans. The organization that has won the most U14 Michelin trophies is the Clinton County Athletics from Philadelphia, NY who have won three times (2005, 2007, & 2008).

The years tournament will be hosting six teams: (Quebec) Montreal Titans, NDG, Valleyfield, Victoriaville; (Ontario) Watson Baseball; (New York State) Clinton County

Bat Specifications

Pinch-Runners

Before each game a coin flip will determine the Home and Away Teams.

No new inning after 1hr50 minutes of play.

 

A game is called, after 5 innings or, 4 ½ innings of play if the home team is leading,  and there is a 10 run difference.

 

Round-Robin

A maximum of 3 innings per pitcher per game

Play-Offs

A maximum of 4 innings per game. A pitcher who pitches 4 innings in a

semi-final game, can not pitch in the Final Game                      

Pitch Count Rules will not apply for this tournament.

NOTE: A pitch thrown in an inning by a pitcher constitutes an

            inning pitched

 

A continuous batting order. Everyone hits.

 

2 5/8" barrel - alloy or composite (BBCOR); 2 1/4" barrel (BPF 1.15)

 

No Pinch-Runners - Exception: two out, catcher on base or an injured base runner, the last out shall replace the base runner.

 

Rules Used to Determining the Top Four Teams During the Tournament

Teams will be placed Pools. All teams will three games. The team with the best record will move onto the semi-finals.

    WHAT IF TWO TEAMS ARE TIED AFTER THE ROUND-ROBIN

a) The team who had won during head-to-head competition will have the higher placement.

b) If no head-to-head competition took place, or they tied, the team with the least number of runs allowed will determine the higher placement.

c) If b) does not determine a higher placement, the team with the higher number of runs scored will determine the higher placement.

d) if c) does not determine the higher placement, teams will draw from a hat as to which team has the higher placement. 

    WHAT IF THREE OR MORE TEAMS ARE TIED AFTER THE ROUND-ROBIN

a) The team who had won each of their games against the other teams will have the higher placement.

b) If a) does not determine the higher placement, the team with the least number of runs allowed will determine the higher placement.

c) If b) does not determine a higher placement, the team with the higher number of runs scored will determine the higher placement.

d) if c) does not determine the higher placement, teams will draw from a hat as to which team has the higher placement.
