NDG Baseball's Sports Awards (TEAM-SPORT) Nominees

1. OUTSTANDING ATHLETE (COMPETITIVE TEAM SPORT) - DARIO FORLINI

An athlete who competed in a sport at an INTERNATIONAL, NATIONAL or PROVINCIAL level in 2015 or 2016 in a team sport

Association Winner: (Soccer) - Diego Alberto Castillo Rodriguez

2. BOROUGH ATHLETE -  MARCUS SURETTE

An athlete (16 years or younger) who participated in a sport at the initiation or beginner level and demonstrated talent and sportsmanship. He/she may have competed in initiation or beginner level competitions or tournaments.

Association Winner: (Rugby) - Fiona Rudland

3. UPCOMING ATHLETE - JAYDEN PERLMAN

An athlete (16 years or younger) who participated and performed in competitions or tournaments but has never been certified A/B/C/C1 or the equivalent as of August 31st 2016. A person who is dedicated to their sport and has a promising future as a competitor

4. OUTSTANDING TEAM - NDG ROOKIE LYNX

A permanent group of persons practising a team sport which has competed and stood out in provincial, national or international tournaments.

Association Winner: (Soccer) - NDG Panthers U-15AA

5. BOROUGH TEAM - ROOKIE REDS (Winner)

A permanent group of persons practising a team sport which has competed and stood out in local or regional tournaments.

Association Co-Winners: (Baseball) - NDG Rookie Reds & (Soccer) NDG Panthers U-13 A

6. OUTSTANDING COMPETITIVE COACH - ROOKIE LYNX COACHING STAFF: PAUL TSANG, OLIVER BIASONE,

ANDREW SALPETER, STÉPHANY WARD

A Level 2 and up coach who is recognized for his/her competences and implication in the development of athletes or teams who participated and performed in provincial, national or international competitions or tournaments.

Association Winner: (Basketball) - Jex Mendiola

7. BOROUGH COACH - MARK HAZAN

A Level 1 coach who is recognized for his/her competences in the development of athletes or teams at the initiation or beginner level. And his/her implication in the promotion of his/her sport and a healthy and active lifestyle for the youth of the borough.

8. OUTSTANDING OFFICIAL - None Nominated

A person recognized for his/her competence in judging or refereeing events or games of an individual or team sport at the provincial, national or international level.
Association Winner: (Rhythmic Gymnastic) - Daniela Arendasova

9. BOROUGH OFFICIAL - ERIC VIAU (Winner)

A person recognized for his/her competence in judging or refereeing events or games of an individual or team sport on the local scene. He/she is also recognized by his/her contribution in local sports and the promotion of sportsmanship.

 10. OUTSTANDING ADMINISTRATOR - JAMES RANKINE 

A person recognized for his/her volunteer contribution in the promotion and the development of amateur sports in the borough .

Association Winner: (Rugby) - Alain Spitzer

11. RECOGNITION OF SPORTSMANSHIP - PEGGY CAI  (Winner)

An athlete that portrays the true meaning of sportsmanship. He/she participates whole heartedly and regularly in his/her sport. He/she encourages teammates winning

or losing. He/she always sees the good side of things (ALL NOMINEES ARE AWARDED AN AWARD).

12. SPORTS ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR - NDG BASEBALL (Winner)

Sports association which in 2015-2016 has had an increase in its membership, as offered a complete and varied program to its members, its athletes obtained good results on the competition circuit, and which organized different activities for the development or the promotion of their sport (competitions, clinics, special events etc.)

13. OUTSTANDING SPORTING EVENT - CHAMPIONSHIP DAY

An important sport event which has had an impact and an important influence for your sport, your organization and the borough. The event must be held in the Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.
Association Winner: (Judo) - Coup de Montréal

 14. MONTREAL GAMES DELEGATION - None Nominated

Sport delegation (individual or team sport) that participated in the 2016 Montreal Games. The winner for this category will be determined by the points accumulated during the games/ versus the maximum points possible, and the position out of the number of boroughs that participated in the given sport.

Association Winner: (Montreal Figure Skating Club) - Patinage Artistique
